The complexity and variety of language included in policy and academic documents make the automatic classification of research papers based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) somewhat difficult. Using both pre-trained and contextual word embeddings to increase semantic understanding, this study presents a complete deep learning pipeline combining Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures which aims primarily to improve the comprehensibility and accuracy of SDG text classification, thereby enabling more effective policy monitoring and research evaluation. Successful document representation via Global Vector (GloVe), Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), and FastText embeddings follows our approach, which comprises exhaustive preprocessing operations including stemming, stopword deletion, and ways to address class imbalance. Training and evaluation of the hybrid BiLSTM-CNN model on several benchmark datasets, including SDG-labeled corpora and relevant external datasets like GoEmotion and Ohsumed, help provide a complete assessment of the model’s generalizability. Moreover, this study utilizes zero-shot prompt-based categorization using GPT-3.5/4 and Flan-T5, thereby providing a comprehensive benchmark against current approaches and doing comparative tests using leading models such as Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach (RoBERTa) and Decoding-enhanced BERT with Disentangled Attention (DeBERTa). Experimental results show that the proposed hybrid model achieves competitive performance due to contextual embeddings, which greatly improve classification accuracy. The study explains model decision processes and improves openness using interpretability techniques, including SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) analysis and attention visualization. These results emphasize the need to incorporate rapid engineering techniques alongside deep learning architectures for effective and interpretable SDG text categorization. With possible effects on more general uses in policy analysis and scientific literature mining, this work offers a scalable and transparent solution for automating the evaluation of SDG research.
This paper proposes a better solution for EEG-based brain language signals classification, it is using machine learning and optimization algorithms. This project aims to replace the brain signal classification for language processing tasks by achieving the higher accuracy and speed process. Features extraction is performed using a modified Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) in this study which increases the capability of capturing signal characteristics appropriately by decomposing EEG signals into significant frequency components. A Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm method is applied to improve the results and select the optimal features which achieves more accurate results by selecting impactful features with maximum relevance

In this study, dynamic encryption techniques are explored as an image cipher method to generate S-boxes similar to AES S-boxes with the help of a private key belonging to the user and enable images to be encrypted or decrypted using S-boxes. This study consists of two stages: the dynamic generation of the S-box method and the encryption-decryption method. S-boxes should have a non-linear structure, and for this reason, K/DSA (Knutt Durstenfeld Shuffle Algorithm), which is one of the pseudo-random techniques, is used to generate S-boxes dynamically. The biggest advantage of this approach is the production of the inverted S-box with the S-box. Compared to the methods in the literature, the need to store the S-box is eliminated. Also, the fabr

Automatic processing of documents is made difficult because of the fact that many of the terms it contain ambiguous. Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) systems try to solve these ambiguities and find the correct meaning. Genetic algorithms can be active to resolve this problem since they have been effectively applied for many optimization problems. In this paper, genetic algorithms proposed to solve the word sense disambiguation problem that can automatically select the intended meaning of a word in context without any additional resource. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on a col

In this research, a new approach to encrypt text message based on genetic algorithm operators has been proposed. The proposed approach follows a new algorithm of generating 8 bit chromosome to encrypt plain text after selecting randomly crossover point. The resulted child code is flipped by one bit using mutation operation. Two simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach including execution time of encryption/decryption and throughput computations. Simulations results prove the robustness of the proposed approach to produce better performance for all evaluation metrics with res
... Show MoreAggression is a negative form of an anti-social behavior. It is produced because of a particular reason, desire, want, need, or due to the psychological state of the aggressor. It injures others physically or psychologically. Aggressive behaviors in human interactions cause discomfort and disharmony among interlocutors. The paper aims to identify how aggressive language manifests itself in the data under scrutiny in terms of the pragmatic paradigm. Two British literary works are the data; namely, Look Back in Anger by John Osborne (1956), and The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter (1957). This paper endeavors to answer the question of how aggressive language is represented in literature pragmatically? It is hoped to be significant to
