The synthesis of a new tridentate Schiff-base ligand and its metal complexes are reported. The reaction of ((2R)-4-methyl-2-((S)-(phenylamino)(p-tolyl) methyl) cyclohexan-1-one) with semicarbazide in a 1: 1 mole ratio resulted in the formation of the title ligand ((E)-2-((2S)-4-methyl-2-((R)(phenylamino)(ptolyl) methyl) cyclohexylidene) hydrazine-1-carboxamide)((HL). The reaction of the ligand with Co (II) and Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) ions in a 1: 1 (L: M) mole ratio gave the title complexes. Physico-chemical techniques were implemented, as required, to characterise the ligand and complexes. These include; elemental microanalysis, 1H, 13C-NMR and mass spectra, FT-IR and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and conductance. These analyses revealed the isolation of octahedral, square planar and tetrahedral geometry about Co (II) and Cu (II); Ni (II); and (Zn (II), Cd (II)) ions, respectively. Thermal stability (TGA-DSC) of the ligand and selected complexes were also investigated. The antimicrobial activity of the ligand and its complexes against several bacterial strains and fungi species were examined. The collected data indicated that the complexes are more active against several kinds of organisms, under survey, compared with the free ligand.

Spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, FTIR, 1H &13C-NMR, and LC-Mass) as well as micro elemental analyses (C.H.N.O) and TGA and SDC were used to identify the azo ligand. Complexes of (Zn(II), Cr(III), Cu(II) and VO(II)) were produced and characterized by atomic absorption, elemental microanalysis, infrared, LC-Mass, TGA, DSC and UV-Vis spectral techniques, as well as conductivity and magnetic quantifications. All the complexes had a 1:2 metal-ligand ratio, and non-electrolytes at all complexes and tetrahedral geometry suggested except Cr-complex, which demonstrate

Compound 2 was reacted with hydrazine hydrate 80 % to give compound 3 , then the compounds 4-13 were synthesized from refluxing of compound 3 with the selected aldehydes and ketones via using few drops of glacial acetic acid, finely step the compounds 4-13 were reacted with phtalic anhydride to give compounds 14-23.. All these compounds were characterized by using of melting point, FTIR, 1 HNMR and mass spectroscopy. Scheme 1 and Scheme 2 shown the all re

Show MoreThe research includes synthesis and identification of novel three amino acids ligands complexes of some heavy metal (II) ions by using the amino acids like glycine, L-alanine and L-valine. New metal mixed ligand complexes with amino acids are prepared the reaction by reacting the three amino acids with the metals(II) chloride by using 50% ethanolic solution and 50% distall water in the molar ratio [1:1:1:1] ( M:Gly:Ala:Val) except for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes were found after diagnosis the coordination with both Lalanine and L-valine. The prepared complexes identified by using physical properties, flame atomic absorption and conductivity measurements, in addition, mass, FT.IR and UV.vis spectrum as well magnetic moment data. The formation of resulting Schiff bases is detected spectrally using LC-Mss which gave corresponding results with theoretical results, 1H-NMR proves the founding of N=CH signal, FT-IR indicates the occurrence of imine band and UV-VIs mean is proved the ligand formation. On the other hand, minerals-based-Schiff was characterized using the same spectral means that relied with ligand (Schiff bases). Those means gave satisfactory results and proved the suggested distinguishable geometries.
