Metaphor is one of the most important linguistic phenomena of the artistic text, as it is the expression of the author’s emotions and evaluations, the result of a deep inner transformation of the semantic words and visual means of reflecting the national culture of each people. This paper examines the concept of linguistic metaphors and analyzes its types in the Russian and Arabic linguistics, provides a comparative analysis of metaphors in Russian and Arabic — all this allows to conclude that metaphorization is characteris- tic of different parts of speech. Corrosion rate tests were carried out on carbon steel under concentration cells conditions of oxygen and sodium chloride. The effect of aeration in one compartment on the corrosion rate of both coupled metals was determined. In addition, the effects of time and temperatures on the corrosion rate of both coupled metals and galvanic currents between them were investigated. Corrosion potentials for the whole range of operating conditions under concentration cell conditions were also studied.   The results showed that under aeration condition, the formation of concentration cell caused a considerable corrosion rate of the Carbon steel specimens coupled in different concentrations of O₂ and NaCl due to the galvanic effect

The article provides a comparative analysis of comparisons in Russian and Arabic, aimed at identifying their structural, typological, and functional-pragmatic features. The study is based on a systematic approach to the analysis of linguistic means of expressing comparisons in two differ- ent linguistic cultures. The article analyzes the main structural components of comparisons, their classification, and their cognitive and aesthetic functions. The results of the study demonstrate the deep cultural conditioning of comparative constructions and their important role in representing the specific features of the respective linguistic cultures.
