Pareto distribution is used in many economic, financial and social applications. This distribution is used for the study of income and wealth and the study of settlement in cities and villages and the study of the sizes of oil wells as well as in the field of communication through the speed of downloading files from the Internet according to their sizes. This distribution is used in mechanical engineering as one of the distributions of models of failure, stress and durability. Given the practical importance of this distribution on the one hand, and the scarcity of sources and statistical research that deal with it, this research touched on some statistical characteristics such as derivation of its mathematical function , probability density function, cumulative distribution function, methods of estimating parameters, and the difficulties that researchers may face in dealing with these phenomena. The parameters were estimated in a number of methods, including the Maximum Likelihood (MLE), Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Moment method (MOM), Relative Least squares (RELS) and Ridge regression (RR). In addition an algorithm has been proposed to improve the estimation parameters for this distribution. MSE was used to determine the best of these methods. Conclusions were presented in the light of this and appropriate proposals were decided upon.

In this work, spinel ferrites (NiCoFe2O4) were prepared as thin films by dc reactive dual-magnetron co-sputtering technique. Effects of some operation parameters, such as inter-electrode distance, and preparation conditions such as mixing ratio of argon and oxygen in the gas mixture, on the structural and spectroscopic characteristics of the prepared samples were studied. For samples prepared at inter-electrode distance of 5 cm, only one functional group of OH- was observed in the FTIR spectra as all bands belonging to the metal-oxygen vibration were observed. The Boltzmann equation has been solved using (EEDF) package for a pure sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas and its mixtures with buffer Helium (He) gas to study the electron energy distribution function EEDF and then the corresponding transport coefficients for various ratios of SF6 and the mixtures. The calculations are graphically represented and discussed for the sake of comparison between the various mixtures. A total of 28 birds were examined to investigate about the distribution of the nematode Hadjelia truncata among some members of the avian family Columbidae in Al-Diwaniya Province, Central Iraq. The percentages of the infection rate with this nematode were 27.27, 37.5, 14.28 and 0 in Columba livia, C. palumbis, Streptopelia decaocto, and S. turtur respectively. Reporting Hadjelia truncata from Streptopelia decaocto constitutes a new host record.
