Effect of 1,3-Oxazepine Derivative on Alkaline Phosphatase and Lactate Dehydrogenase Activity in Healthy Iraqi Females Serum
...Show More Authors

Background: Heterocyclic compounds and its derivatives have biological activities and used as analgesic, anti-helminthic, antituberculer, antifungal, antiviral, anticancer and inhibitor of some enzymes. Oxazepine (benzodiazepine) derivative used in relief of psychoneuroses characterized by anxiety and tension. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) hydrolyzes phosphate monoesters, while Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) catalyses oxidation of L-lactate to pyruvate utilizing NAD+Objective: The study was carried out to know of the impact of 1,3-oxazepine derivative on the ALP and LDH enzyme activity on human serum in vitro. Methods: The study included the effect of synthesized 1,3-oxazepine divertive [(Z)-3-(5-mercapto-1-3,4-Thiadizol-2-yl)-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1,3-oxzepine-4,7-dione] on the activity of enzymes ALP and LDH for (34) healthy Iraqi females serum in vitro. The activity of both enzymes was measured spectrophotometrically. Different concentrations of 1,3-oxazepine derivative were used and the inhibition percentage was calculated. Results: The results of this study revealed that effect of 1,3-oxazepine derivative was inhibitor for ALP and LDH activity and the high inhibition percentage was 87.56% for ALP. The high inhibition percentage was 50% for LDH when 1,3-oxazepine derivative was used. Conclusions: 1,3-oxazepine derivative affected as inhibitor on ALP and LDH enzyme activity in human serum in vitro. This can be used in drug industry in the future.

The effect between combination of cold plasma and gold nano material on blood components
...Show More Authors

A simple low-cost approach at various exposure times was utilized to generate cold plasma in the aim to fabricate AuNPs. UV-Visible spectra and X-ray diffraction were used to characterize the nanoparticles (XRD). Surface Plasmon resonance was observed in the synthesized AuNPs at 530, 540, and 533 nm. For all samples, the patterns of XRD show very intensive peaks implying the fcc crystalline structure of AuNPs. The average crystallite size of AuNPs is ranging between 20-30 nm. The observation of morphology by FESEM revealed the spherical formation of AuNPs. Doses of 100 and 200 ppm of AuNPs were adapted to investigate their effect on the blood-mixture with and without a 20-second of cold plasma exposure. The WBC components in the blood

The effect of rear earth doping CdS nanostructure on structural, optical and photoconductivity properties
...Show More Authors

Rare earth elements (Cerium, Lanthanum and Neodymium) doped CdS thin films are prepared using the chemical Spray Pyrolysis Method with temperature 200 oC. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis refers that pure CdS and CdS:Ce, CdS:La and CdS:Nd thin films showed the hexagonal crystalline phase. The crystallite size determined by the Debye-Scherrer equation and the range was (35.8– 23.76 nm), and it was confirmed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The pure and doped CdS shows a direct band gap (2.57 to 2.72 eV), which was obtained by transmittance. The room-temperature photoluminescence of pure and doped CdS shows large peak at 431 nm, and two small peaks at (530 and 610 nm). The Current – voltage measurement in da

Effect of Lactobacilli sources on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus adherence to uroepithelial cells
...Show More Authors

The inhibitory action of four lactobacilli isolates Lactobacillus bulgaricus, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum and L. fermentum, isolated from four different samples; yoghurt, vinegar, saliva and vagina respectively, on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus adhesion to uroepithelial cells were investigated. Results showed that all Lactobacillus isolates or their supernatant were able to reduce the number of the uropathogens attached to uroepithelial cells. However, inhibition level of lactobacilli cells was higher than their supernatant. Nevertheless, the human indigenous lactobacilli (L. fermentum and L. plantarum) were more competitive than food lactobacilli (L. acidophilus and L. bulgaricus).

Effect of Water on Some Mechanical Properties for Sawdust and Chopped Reeds /UPE composites
...Show More Authors

In this study, composite materials were prepared using unsaturated polyester resin as binder with two types of fillers (sawdust and chopped reeds). The molding method is used to prepare sheets of UPE / sawdust composite and UPE / chopped reeds composite. The mechanical properties were studied including flexural strength and Young's modulus for the samples at normal conditions (N.C). The Commercial wood, UPE and its composite samples were immersed in water for about 30 days to find the weight gain (Mt%) of water for the samples, also to find the effect of water on their flexural strength and Young's modulus. The results showed that the samples of UPE / chopped reeds composite gained highest values of flexural strength (24.

Investigation the effect of post deposition thermal treatment on properties P3HT and P3HT:PCBM blend.
...Show More Authors

This work reports the study of heat treatment effect on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of poly [3-hexylthiophene] and its blend with [6,6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester ( P3HT:PC61BM). X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements show that the crystallinity of the films increased with annealing. The evaluation of surface roughness and morphology was investigated using atomic force microscope (AFM), and field emission scanning microscope(FESEM). The optical properties were emphasized a strong optical absorption of P3HT compared with the blend. Hall effect measurement was used to study the electrical properties which revealed there is an increase in the electrical conductivity and Hall mobility of th

The Effect of Anesthesia on Thyroid Hormones and Cortisol Levels Following Major Urological Surgery
...Show More Authors

This study was designed to evaluate the effect of anesthesia on thyroid hormones (T3, T4, rT3), thyrotropin(TSH), and cortisol levels in patients undergoing major urological surgery. The study included fifty patients scheduled for elective major urological surgery where 70% of the patients underwent general anesthesia, while30% underwent regional anesthesia. All patients were in stable control general conditions. The study showed that the thyroid hormones, thyrotropin and cortisol levels were affected with general anesthesia more than regional. The levels of these hormones responded to anesthetics and surgical stresses. This response was thought to be mainly mediated by afferent neurogenic impulses from the area of injury. Therefore, ab

Study the Effect of Using Microwave Radiation and H-Donors on Improving Heavy Oil
...Show More Authors

The present research has investigated the effect of microwave energy on improving the flow properties of heavy crude oil. The fragmentation of crude oil molecules was carried out with and without using 1 and 10 wt. % concentration of various types of H-donors like tetralin, cyclohexane, and naphtha.  Microwave power of 320, 385, and 540 W and radiation time 1-9 min, and temperature were studied. The kinematic viscosity and asphaltene content were measured for evaluation the improving of heavy crude oil.

Results show that viscosity of crude oil decreased with increase H-donor concentration, a maximum percentage of viscosity reduction was10.63 % for tetralin at 6 min radiation time, while 8.67%, and 7.34% for cycl
