The Ratawi Oil Field (ROF) is one of Iraq's most important oil fields because of its significant economic oil reserves. The major oil reserves of ROF are in the Mishrif Formation. The main objective of this paper is to assess the petrophysical properties, lithology identification, and hydrocarbon potential of the Mishrif Formation using interpreting data from five open-hole logs of wells RT-2, RT-4, RT-5, RT-6, and RT-42. Understanding reservoir properties allows for a more accurate assessment of recoverable oil reserves. The rock type (limestone) and permeability variations help tailor oil extraction methods, extraction methods and improving recovery techniques. The petrophysical properties were calculated using Interactive Petrophysics software (version 4.5), employing various methods such as density (RHOB), neutron porosity (NPHI), sonic, gamma-ray, resistivity, and caliper logs. The well logs were evaluated and adjusted based on the environmental conditions. The lithology of the formations was identified through Neutron-Density cross plots, which revealing a composition primarily of limestone. The optimum approach for calculating clay volume was the gamma ray method, which indicated approximately 10% clay content. For calibrating effective porosity with core data, the Neutron-Density method proved to be the most accurate, showed values between 12% and 14% in the MB unit. The Archie technique was selected for its compatibility with limestone. Formation water resistivity was estimated from analogies of the southern field of the Mishrif reservoir (RW=0.021). Permeability was calculated using the flow zone indicator method (FZI) with an average between 0.2 and 0.35 md. According to the petrophysical analysis conducted at Mishrif, the formation consists of four units: MA, MB1, MB2, and MC. The most significant hydrocarbon-bearing unit in the formation is MB1.The insights gained from this study not only enhance the understanding of the Mishrif Formation but also contribute to the development of more efficient extraction techniques and improved reservoir management strategies. By optimizing recovery methods based on precise petrophysical and lithological data, the study supports the sustainable and economically viable exploitation of hydrocarbon resources in the ROF and similar reservoirs worldwide. These findings are significant in the broader context of petroleum engineering and reservoir management, as they provide a foundation for improved recovery techniques and sustainable resource management.
BACKGROUND: Anemia during pregnancy is still a challenge throughout the world, and it may cause severe health consequences in the maternal and fetal sides. AIM: This study aims to find out the prevalence of maternal anemia and potential adverse outcomes in Iraq. METHODS: In Medical City Tertiary Center in Baghdad, singleton pregnant ladies came for delivery were involved over 6 months’ period. Based on hemoglobin (Hb) readings; they were divided into no anemia group (Hb>11 g/l) and anemia group which were further subdivided into mild, moderate, and severe (Hb =10–10.9, =7.1–9.9, and <7 g/l, respectively). Full history and examination were performed by attending obstetrician and pediatrician for the upcoming b

The political dynamics and balances emerging after ISIS* represented at the same time opportunities and risks in the process of

According to international reports, it is classified as among the top five most affected by climate change in the world, leading to economic resource shortages and an increase in water scarcity, which exposes societal stability in Iraq to a threat. This may result in social disintegration and civil conflicts, so climate changes are considered one of the most dangerous crises affecting societal stability in Iraq during this stage. In this context, the research attempts to trace the causes of climate change and their effects on societal stability in Iraq and suggest some necessary measures to confront them in the future. Show MoreMost studies indicated that the values of atmospheric variables have changed from their general rates due to pollution or global warming etc. Hence, the research indicates the changes of direct solar radiation values over a whole century i.e. from 1900 to 2000 depending on registered data for four cities, namely (Mosul - Baghdad - Rutba - Basra. Moreover, attemptsto correlate the direct solar radiation with the temperature values have been recorded over that period. The results showed that there is a decreasing pattern of radiation quantities over time throughout the study period, where the value of direct radiation over the city of Baghdad 5550 w/m2 was recorded in the year 1900, but this ratio decreased cle

A retrospective cost-effectiveness analysis was conducted on 46 male patients with hemophilia A and inhibitors treated at a public children’s hospital in Baghdad. Data collection was conducted between November 2024 and March 2025. Clinical and economic data were retrospectively collected for a 12-m
Streamlined peristaltic transport patterns, bifurcations of equilibrium points, and effects of an inclined magnetic field and channel are shown in this study. The incompressible fluid has been the subject of the model's investigation. The Reynolds values for evanescence and an infinite wavelength are used to constrain the flow while it is being studied in a slanted channel with a slanted magnetic field. The topologies over their domestic and cosmopolitan bifurcations are investigated for the outcomes, and notion of the dynamical system are employed. The Mathematica software is used to solve the nonlinear autonomous system. The flow is found to have three different flow distributions namely augmented, trapping and backward flow. Outc

We found that there are two (5,3)-arcs, four (6,3)-arcs, six (7,3)arcs, six (8,3)-arcs, seven (9,3)-arcs, six (10,3)-arcs and six (11,3)-arcs. All of these arcs are incomplete. The number of distinct (12,3)-arcs are six, two of them are complete. There are four distinct (13,3)-arcs, two of them are complete and one (14,3)-arc which is incomplete. There exists one complete (15,3)-arc.
