Knowledge, Practices, and Barriers of Communication Skills among a Group of Primary Health-care Physicians in Baghdad 2023
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background:

Communication skills are essential for health professionals to achieve a positive relationship with patients, improving their health and quality of life. Communication is the foundation for obtaining medical history and conveying a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Objectives:

To assess the knowledge, practice of communication skills among primary care physicians, to find out any barriers related to the communication skills, and the association between the studied variables with knowledge and practice of communication skills.

Methodology:

A cross-sectional study with analytic component conducted in 40 Primary Health Care Centers in Baghdad, with data collection during a period of 4 months from March 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023. Data had been collected in a questionnaire by direct interview with the participants done by the researcher and including three parts: (participants’ sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, practice toward communication skills, and the barriers to successful communication).

Results:

The total number of the participants was 126. The level of knowledge of the participants about physician-patient communication skills was fair in 74 (58.7%) of them, poor in 35 (27.8%). The highest prevalence of poor level of knowledge was seen in participants with specialties other than family medicine and in those with more than 20 years of experience. Level of practice of the participants toward physician-patient communication skills was good in 63 (50%) of them and 63 (50%) had moderate level of practice. The highest prevalence of moderate level of practice was seen in elderly age participants. The most common barrier as mentioned by the participants was time limitation.

Conclusion:

The majority of primary health-care physicians in this study have fair levels of knowledge, with moderate to good level of practice about communication skills. Family physicians and those who had experience between 10 and 19 years had better knowledge about communication skills. Time limitations are perceived as the biggest hindrance to communication followed by the presentation with multiple complains.

Abstract<p>Real Time Extended (RTX) technology works to take advantage of real-time data comes from the global network of tracking stations together with inventor locating and compression algorithms to calculate and relaying the orbit of satellite, satellite atomic clock, and any other systems corrections to the receivers, which lead to real-time correction with high accuracy. These corrections will be transferred to the receiver antenna by satellite (where coverage is available) and by IP (Internet Protocol) for the rest of world to provide the accurate location on the screen of smartphone or tablet by using specific software. Pots experiment was conducted at the greenhouse of botanical garden belong to Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Science, Ibn-AL-Haithum, University of Baghdad, for growth season 2018-2019. The aim of the experiment was to study the effects of foliar application of a-tocopherol concentrations (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 mg.L-1) on growth parameters and the activity of some antioxidant enzymes of wheat plant irrigated with sodium chloride concentrations (0, 75, 150, 225) mM.L-1. Salinity reduced plant growth parameter, plant height, flag leaf area, flag leaf chlorophyll content and increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase. Plant growth parameters were enhanced by foliar application of a-t

The Isolation of specifically lytic phages along with their extracted endolysins as antibacterial agents to MDR Enterococcus faecalis
...Show More Authors

Background: Multidrug-resistant (MDR) enterococci have become a major problem in recent times and have been reported increasingly around the world. Lytic phages infect bacteria leading to rapid host death with limited risk of phage transduction, underlining the increasing interest in potential phage therapy in the future. Objective (s): The aim of this study is to use phage therapy as alternative approach for treatment of Enterococcus faecalis infections that recorded as MDR in Iraq to tackle this problem. Materials and Methods: Thirty E. faecalis isolates were collected from patients with different infectious diseases such as urinary tract infection (UTI), diabetic foot, septicemia, and wound infections. The isolation of specific l

Efficient design of neural network based on modified LM training algorithm for solving nonlinear 4th order 3D-PDEs

Authors in this work design efficient neural networks, which are based on the modified Levenberg - Marquardt (LM) training algorithms to solve non-linear fourth - order three -dimensional partial differential equations in the two kinds in the periodic and in the non-periodic - Periodic. Software reliability growth models are essential tools for monitoring and evaluating the evolution of software reliability. Software defect detection events that occur during testing and operation are often treated as counting processes in many current models. However, when working with large software systems, the error detection process should be viewed as a random process with a continuous state space, since the number of faults found during testin

Retrieval of Migrated Guidewire Extending From Right Ventricular Apex to the Inferior Vena Cava via Pigtail-Assisted Snaring
...Show More Authors

Intravascular embolisation of foreign bodies (FB) is a rare, serious complication that may occur during central venous line insertion. A 39-yearold male in a critical condition presented to casualty department with a through-and-through chest gunshot wound. Chest X-ray showed left haemothorax; an urgent chest tube was introduced and central venous access was introduced via the right femoral vein. The guided wire used in the procedure was unintentionally pushed to reach the right ventricular apex. Echocardiography confirmed FB location. Once stabilised, the patient was referred to Iraqi Centre of Cardiac Diseases, where transcatheter retrieval was performed. To stabilise the FB, a 6F pigtail catheter was used to create a U-shaped loop in the
