Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is the foremost cause of end-stage renal disease. Early detection of DN can spare diabetic patients of severe complications. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of red cell distribution width (RDW) and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in the detection of DN in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This cross-sectional study included a total of 130 patients with T2DM, already diagnosed with T2DM. The albumin creatinine ratio (ACR) in urine samples was calculated for each patient, according to which patients were divided into two groups: with evidence of DN when ACR ? 30 mg/g, and those with no evidence of DN when ACR < 30 mg/g. According to multivariate analysis, each of disease duration (OR = 4.43, 95% CI = 1.68-11.68, p = 0.003), HbA1c (OR = 6.4, 95% CI = 2.32-17.65, p < 0.001) and NLR (OR = 13.75, 95% CI = 1.68-11.68, p < 0.001) were independent predictors for DN. Using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve to evaluate the diagnostic value of NLR revealed that the AUC was 0.736 (95% CI = 0.635-0.837), p < 0.001. The sensitivity and specificity of the test at the cut-off value of NLR = 3.35 was 69% and 89%, respectively. These data indicate that NLR is a simple non-expensive test that can be used regularly to investigate diabetic patients for the development of DN. Red cell distribution width (RDW), on the other hand, had no diagnostic value in this regard.
Anadrol (oxymetholone) is an active androgenic anabolic steroid that has been clinically studied in numerous diseases since the 1960s. It is used in the treatment of anemia and the replacement of male sex steroids. Unfortunately, in attempts to improve physical performance, Anadrol could be misused by athletes, that can lead to poisoning contributes to hepatotoxicity.
The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of anadrol on the liver function in rat model, via assessment of liver enzymes and histopathological study.
A forty male rats, weights about (200-300 gm), aged 8-12 weeks, after acclimatization, the rats were randomly divided into four groups (10 rats in each group) as follow: control group (in w

In order to determine what type of photovoltaic solar module could best be used in a thermoelectric photovoltaic power generation. Changing in powers due to higher temperatures (25oC, 35oC, and 45oC) have been done for three types of solar modules: monocrystalline , polycrystalline, and copper indium gallium (di) selenide (CIGS). The Prova 200 solar panel analyzer is used for the professional testing of three solar modules at different ambient temperatures; 25oC, 35oC, and 45oC and solar radiation range 100-1000 W/m2. Copper indium gallium (di) selenide module has the lowest power drop (with the average percent

Electrochemical polarization method using potentiostatic technique was employed. The inhibition efficiency has been raised with increased sulphamethoxazole concentration but lessened at temperature increases. The highest efficiency value was 96.5 at 298 K and 2 x10-4 mol.dm-3 concentration of sulphamethoxazole. The sulphamethoxazole adsorption was agreed with Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Some thermodynamic parameter (△Gads) and activation energy (Ea) were determin

Objective(s): To assess the job satisfaction during of covid-19 among the nurses in respiratory isolation units of coronavirus disease.
Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional design was carried out in four hospitals at isolation units of coronavirus disease from the period (21th December, 2021 to 27th January, 2022). A non-probability (convenience) sampling method consists of (300) nurse was selected convenience based on the study criteria. The tool used to measure the job satisfaction is Job satisfaction scale for clinical nursing (JSS-CN). This tool consists of two parts, the first part is for demographic information and consists of 8 items, and the second

The nonlinearities in the system come from the quasi steady aerodynamic model and torsional spring in pitch direction. Time domain simulations are used to examine the dynamic aero elastic instabilities of the system (e.g. the onset of flutter and limit cycle oscillation, LCO). The structure of the controller consists of two models :the modified Elman neural network (MENN) and the feed forward multi-layer Perceptron (MLP). The MENN model is trained with off-line and on-line stages to guarantee that the outputs of the model accurately represent the plunge and pitch motion of the wing and this neural model acts as the identifier. The research aims to study the effect of the commodity dumping phenomenon that Iraq suffered after 2003 on the consumption pattern of individuals, towards the acquisition of non-essential goods (luxury). To achieve our goal we relied on the questionnaire as a main tool for obtaining information related to the research, and it was distributed on a random sample of consumers in the city of Baghdad with 250 questionnaires. The answers of the research sample were analyzed using the statistical program (SPSS). The percentage weights and the factorial analysis method were used also to arrange the variables that affected on changing consumption patterns. The research reached a set of conclusions:

It extracts the maximum power point (MPP) using three-incremental-steps perturb and observe (TISP&O) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method. It improves the classic P&O by using three incremental duty ratio (ΔD) instead of a single one in the conventional P and O MPPT method. Therefore, the system's performance is improved to a higher speed and less power fluctuation around the MPP. The Boost converter controls the MPPT and then is connected to a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI). This type of inverter needs a high and constant input voltage. A second-order low pass (LC) filter is connected to the output of VSI to reduce t

Scientists worldwide continue to research to find vaccines, treatments, and medication for this disease. Studies also conenue to find the pathogenicity and epidemiology mechanisms. Materials and Methods: In this work, we analyzed cases obtained from Alshifaa center in Baghdad/Iraq for 23/2/2020-31/5/2020 with total instances of 797, positive cases of 393, and death cases of 30. Results: Results showed that the highest infection cases were among people aged between 41-45. Also, it was found that males' number of cases was more than females. In contrast, death cases were significantly higher in males than females. It was not
