A novel series of chitosan derivatives were synthesized via reaction of chitosan with carbonyl compounds and grafted it’s by with different amine compounds substituted hydrogen. The produced polymers were characterized by different analyses FTIR, 1HCNMR, XRD, DSC and TGA. Solubility in water as well as many solvent was investigated, antibacterial activity of chitosan and its derivatives against two types of bacteria E. coli and S. aureus was also investigated. The results showed that derivatives sort of have antibacterial activities against Esherichia coli (Gram negative) better than chitosan whilst compound IX has better antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus (Gram positive). SEM analysis showed that increase of surface roughness with modification.
Poly aniline-formaldehyde/chitosan composite (PAFC) was prepared by the in situ polymerization method. It was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy in addition to SEM, EDS and TGA techniques. The adsorption kinetics of malachite green dye (MG) on (PAFC) were studied for various initial concentrations (20, 30 and 40) mg/L at three temperatures (308, 313 and 318) K. The influence factors of adsorption; adsorbent dose, contact time, initial concentration and temperature were investigated. The kinetic studies confirmed that adsorption of MG obeyed the pseudo-second-order model and the adsorption can be controlled through external mass transfer followed by intraparticle diffusion mass transfer. A series of new heterocyclic aromatic derivatives compounds were synthesized by reacted of Bis-methylene-di-(2-aminobenzoyl chloride) with different chloride moieties such as piperidine-1-sulfonylchloride, Pryidine-3-sulfonylchloride, 4,4and#39;-(diazene-1,2-diyl)dibenzoyl-chloride and chloramphenicol respectively, to afforded a derivatives compound containing primary amine group [A-A4]. These derivative compounds [A-A4] were reacted with polyethanol using cold-warm esterification to synthesize of new graft polymers [B1-B4]. The structures of products were conforming by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. XRD-Diffraction of grafted polymer showed compound [B1 and B3] were crystal and semi-crystal respectively. As well as, derivatives

Show MoreRecently, some prostate cancer patients have acquired resistance to the second -generation drugs (anzalutamide and apalutamide) prescribed for the treatment of this disease due to the emergence of the F876L mutation, which represents a challenge to modern medicine. In this study, a new series of 2-thiohydantoin derivatives were prepared through the reaction of different derivatives of maleimide (1c-4c) with isothiocyanate derivatives. The prepared compounds were diagnosed using FT-IR,1H-NMR ,13C-NMR, Mass spectra. The prepared series compounds has been studied against prostate cancer cells. The MTT assay was used to determine the activity of the prepared compounds against prostate cancer cells. The da

The chalcons [I] a, b was reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to form isoxazolines [II] a, b. which were reacted with ethyl chloro acetate in basic medium to get ester compounds [III] a, b. The condensation new ester [III] a, b with hydrazine hydrate80% yieldedacid hydrazide [IV] a, b. The later compound refluxing with 4-substituted benzaldehyde in dry benzene to give Sc

Show MoreDiazotization reaction between 1-(2,4,6-trihydroxy-phenyl)-ethanone and diazonium salts produced the ligand 4-(3-Acetyl-2,4,6-trihydroxy-phenylazo)-N-(5-methyl-isoxazol-3-yl)- benzenesulfonamide, which in turn reacted with the metal ions (Ni2+, Zn2+, Pd2+ and Pt4+) forming stable complexes with Octahedral geometry suggest of (Ni2+ and Pt4+), Zn2+ complex Tetrahedral and Pd2+ complex Square planer. The creation of such complexes was detected by employing spectroscopic means involving ultraviolet-visible, which proved the obtained geometries; FT-IR confirmed the formation of the azo group and the coordination with metal ions through it. Thermogravimetric analysis studies demonstrated the coordination of water residues (aqua or hydrate) with m

Show MoreA new azo (LH) ligand was prepared by coupling reaction between, diazonium salt of Sulfamethoxazole, and 8-hydroxyquinoline in a process called diazotization process resulting in azo-ligand [4-((8-hydroxyquinolin-7-yl)- N(4-methylisoxazol-3-yl) benzene sulfonamide]. The azo ligand was identified by using spectroscopic techniques to detect and characterize the formation of ligand and complexes of Ni2+, Pt4+, Pd2+, and Rh3+ metal ions, and to determine the chelating behavior of ligand and also its bind position. All complexes have a [1:1] [M-ligand] ratio and all complexes are nonelectrolytes and most of the complexes have octahedral geometry, while Pd2+complex gave square planer geometry and Ni2+ complex indicate tetrahedral geometry. Antibiotic sensitivity test were done to determine their sensitivity to number of antibiotics, the results illustrated all that isolates were resistant to most used antibiotics. The ability of Pseduomonas isolates to produce haemolysin, protease and pyocyanin were detected in this study, all isolates had the ability to produce pyocyanin pigment, hemolysis and protease. The antimicrobial activity of the ethanolic extracts of Thuja orientalis and green tea against P.aeruginosa were investigated. The results showed that both these plant extracts have inhibitory effect against Pseduomonas isolates and it was shown that ethanolic extract of green tea was more efficie

This was done over seven steps, starting with p-acetamido-phenol 1 and 2-mercaptobenzoimidazole 2. The structure of the products was determined using FT-IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectroscopy. The evaluation of the antimicrobial activities of some prepared compounds was achieved against four types of bacteria (two types of gram-positive bacteria; Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis, and two types of gram-negative bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E. Coli), as well as against one types of fungus (C. albino). The results show moderate activit against the study bacteria, and the theoretical analysis of the toxi
