New mixed ligand complexes of New Schiff base 4,4'- ((naphthalen-1-ylimino) methylene) dibenzene-1,3-diol and 8-hydroxy quinoline: Synthesis, Spectral Characterization, Thermal studies and Biological Activities
A new series of ?-D-glucose as Schiff bases derivatives is synthesized and characterized with studying their bioactivity. Hydroxyl groups at C (1,2&5,6) sugar moiety are converted into acetal form through a reaction with dry acetone using phosphoric acid and anhydrous zinc chloride as catalysts producing 1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropyledine ?-D-glucofuranose(I). The five memberd ring acetal of C(5,6) is hydrolyzed with acetic acid (65%)and a reaction of the new product with sodium periodate is carried on to get an aldehyde moiety which is used to produce a new series of Schiff bases through reacting with different amino compounds such as 4-amino antipyrene . The suggested chemical structures of the prepared compounds are confirmed by using UV., FT
... Show MoreA new two series of liquid crystalline Schiff bases containing thiazole moiety with different length of alkoxy spacer were synthesized, and the relation between the spacer length and the liquid crystalline behavior was investigated. The molecular structures of these compounds were performed by elemental analysis and FTIR, 1HNMR spectroscopy. The liquid crystalline properties were examined by hot stage optical polarizing microscopy (OPM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). All compouns of the two series display liquid crystalline nematic mesophase. The liquid crystalline behaviour has been analyzed in terms of structural property relationship
The preparation of a new Azo compounds of highly conjugated dimeric and polymeric liquid crystal to achieve the crystalline characteristics Which have structures assigned based on elemental analysis, IR 1HNMR and CHNS-O while mesogenic properties have been set for DSC and hot-stage polarizing optical microscopy. The compounds show enantiotropicnematic phase being displayed. The compounds show photoluminescence properties in the organic solution at room temperature, with the fluorescence band centered around 400 nm.
In this paper some chalcones (C1-C8) are prepared based on the reaction of one mole of substituted acetophenone with one mole of substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of (40%) sodium hydroxide as a base. Pyrazolines (P1–P8) are prepared from the reaction of chalcones (C1-C8) with hydrazine hydrate. Isoxazoline (I1-I8) is prepared from the reaction of chalcones (C1-C8) with hydroxyl amine hydrochloride in the presence of (10%) sodium hydroxide as a base. These compounds are characterized by using various physical and spectral methods. The compounds are screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity using gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria. Several derivatives of pyrazolines and isoxazolines are produced well to moder
... Show MoreThis study involves the synthesis of a new class of silicon polymers, designated as P1-P7, derived from dichlorodimethylsilane (DCDMS) in combination with various organic compounds (Schiff bases prepared from different amines and appropriate aldehydes or ketones) [I-V] through condensation polymerization. The structures of all monomers and polymers were characterization by FTIR and 1HNMR spectroscopy (for some polymers). The results of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry DSC test show stable thermal behaviour. Polymers with a higher concentration of aromatic rings in their repeating structural units exhibited a higher temperature for weight loss, indicating increased thermal stability. Thermal meas
... Show MoreThe [2-aminobenzothiazole]was reacted with [2,4,6 triyhydroxy-acetophenon monohydrate] to give a new ligand [2-N-2,4,6-trihydroxyacetophenonyliden benzothiazole] [H3L]. This ligand was reacted with metal ions ( CoII, NiII,CuII and ZnII) in methanol as solvent with ( 1:2 ) metal : ligand ratio to give a series of new complexes with general formula [ M(H2L)2],(where:M= CoII, NiII ,CuIIand, ZnII).All compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods ( I.R , U.V – vis,HPLC) atomic absorption, along with chloride content and conductivity measurements. According to the data of these measurements we suggested a tetrahedral
Background: Isoxazoles are an important class of five-membered unsaturated heterocyclic compounds. They show several applications in diverse areas such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemistry and industry. Isoxazoles are also found in natural sources showing insecticidal, plant growth regulation and pigment functions. Current study was conducted for synthesis of twenty five new Isoxazole derivatives and to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial activities of these derivatives. Methods: Benzaldoxime and their substituted [I] ae were prepared via addition-elimination reactions between aromatic aldehyde and hydroxylamine hydrochloride. In a second step, para-or meta-substituted benzaldoximes [I] ae were reacted with N-chlorosucceinimide in DMF to yield
... Show MoreThe formation and structural investigation of three new Mannich bases are reported. The synthesis of these compounds was accomplished via a multicomponent one-pot reaction using CaCl2 as a catalyst. The reaction of the benzaldehyde, m-bromoaniline and cyclohexanone or 4-methylcyclohexanone resulted in the formation of L1 and L3, respectively. The synthesis of L2 was achieved by mixing benzaldehyde, o-bromoaniline and cyclohexanone. The isolated compounds were characterised using a range of analytical and spectroscopic techniques. These include; NMR (1H and 13C-NMR), ESMS, FTIR, electronic spectroscopy, microanalyses and melting points. The NMR data for L1 and L2 indicated the presence of one isomer in solutions, on the NMR time scale. How
