Growth of Penicillium expansum, an ubiquitous mould found in stored fruit globallyt, was significantly restricted by exposure to 48 h cell-free supernatant of two strains of Lactobacillus plantarum (p < 0.001). In addition, the biotransformation of patulin, a toxic secondary metabolite formed by P. expansum, on exposure to L. plantarum cells and cell-free supernatant highlights the potential of this GRAS microbe as a biocontrol agent. Up to 80% of patulin was biotransformed following a 4 h incubation with 1010 cells ml−1 (37 °C) forming E- and Z-ascladiol. This study investigates the treatment of used lubricating oils from AL-Mussaib Gas Power Station Company-Iraq, which was treated with different extractive solvents (heptane and 2-propanol). The performance activity of these solvents in the extraction process was examined and evaluated experimentally. Operating parameters were solvent to oil ratios of (1:2, 1:4, 1:6, and 1:8), mixing time (20, 35, 50, and 65 min), temperatures (30, 40, 50, and 60 ºC), and mixing speed (500 rpm). This paper aims to introduce certain new kinds of ideals on pseudo-BG-Algebra (P-BG-A), such as pseudo-closed ideal (P-CI), pseudo-completely closed ideal (P-CCI), and pseudo-n-ideal (P-n-I). Firstly, a (P-n-I) is defined and its pertinent properties are explored. Some important properties have been proven, for example, any pseudo-ideal is a (P-n-I), but the opposite is not generally true, an example was given of the opposite direction. Also, every pseudo-subalgebra of a (P-BG-A) is a pseudo ideal and it is a (P-n-I). Secondly, (P-CI) and a (P-CCI) ideal are defined. Natural bitumen (NB) is a highly precious material and has drawn increasing attention due to its unique properties, especially since it is available in large quantities and has been used in limited fields. In this research, the exploitation of NB from sulfur springs as an alternative energy resource in the production of asphalt pavement is evaluated. It can be concluded from the experimental results that the chemical composition and surface morphology of NB samples are different from those of base asphalt.
