Three monogenean species of the genus Gyrodactylus viz. G. cotti Roman, 1956 on gills of Planiliza abu, G. mikailovi Ergens & Ibragimov, 1976 on gills of Chondrostoma regium and G. prostae Ergens, 1963 on gills of Alburnus caeruleus were recorded from Tigris river at Al-Shawwaka region, Baghdad. The description and measurements of these parasites as well as their illustrations where given. All these parasites are recorded here for the first time in Iraq.  
 

Samples of water from some cities on Tigris river have been used to determine the concentration by the derivative activation analysis (DNAA) technique. Phosphor concentration was neutron determined by preparing complex (Phosphor Vanadium Moly date) ion P:V ratio of 1:2 After extraction by reagent organic MIBK and irradiation. The concentration was found to be (1.503-2.607) ppm.

The phenomenon of the thermoinduced jumps of the step domains length in imperfect magnetic films with perpendicular with anisotropy is studied. For describing of the strip domain transitions into other metastable states, the stochastic equation of its head movement is used. In this equation the spatial non-uniformities of the medium are modeled by the restricted random function, and thermal fluctuations by the Gaussian white noise. Hueckel edge detector study using binary step edge image is presented. The standard algorithm that Hueckel presented, in his paper without any alteration is adopted. This paper studies a fully analysis for the algorithm efficiency, time consuming and the expected results with slide window size and edge direction. An analysis for its behavior with the changing of the slide window size (disk size) is presented. The best result is acquired when the window size equals to four pixel.

Kaolin ceramic compacts sintered at various temperatures are investigated to correlate their microstructure with their acoustic parameters.  Pulse  velocity  ,  attenuation  coefficient,  and  quality factor values are ducts from ultrasonic attenuation measurements, moreover, the dynamical mechanics parameters( Young and shear modules) exhibited an explicit relationship with the acoustic quality factor.inturn  are  related  to  the  microstructure  which  is  heavily affected by the sintering mechanism.

 Eight soil samples were selected around Najaf governorate at depth levels 40-50 cm. X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) was used to determine the concentrations of major and trace elements. Liner and mass attenuation coefficient (µ, µ_ρ) have been determined at gamma energies (662, 1172,1332) keV using NaI (Tl) detector. The range of linear attenuation coefficients for calculated samples were (0.553-1.163) cm^-1, (0.122-0.178) cm^-1 and (0.049-0.105) cm^-1 at (662, 1172,1332) keV respectively. The phagocytic activity of peritoneal and blood cells counts with neutrophils and monocytes were evaluated in albino mice treated wtth two antigen preparations (A and B) from group A streptococci (GAS). Antigen A included water bathed bacteria at 70 °C for 60 minutes, while in Antigen B the bacteria was autoclaved at 121° C for 15 minutes. The animals were treated with 12 intraperitoneal doses of the antigens with intervals of three days (36 days). The 12th dose was a challenge dose (live bacteria). The first three doses of Antigen A increased the phagocytic index (PI) to a range of 76.46-78.69%, then a gradual decreased percentage was observed, especially at the challenge dose (PI=6.42%).  A group of birds were passively immunized by a transfer factor extracted from lymphocytes sensitized to adenovirus and then they were challenged by the virulent virus (adenovirus isolated from hydropericardium infected birds). The results indicatede that the groups of birds that received the transfer factor or sensitized lymphocytes were protected from having any grossly pathological changes and having a high level of anti adenovirus antibodies.
