The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of oral administration of hot aqueous extract of beetle cocoon Larinus maculatus Faldermann, in a two doses 50
and100mg/Kg/Bw for 25 and 45days respect- tively on some organs such as liver, lung, kidney, intestine, heart, spleen, and brain in male mice Mus musculus. The results indicated that there were toxicopathological changes in many tissues of experimental animals. Histo -pathological changes was dose and period dependent . It was found that the aqueous extract of beetle cocoon has undesirable effect at the administered doses, since the raw extract of this cocoon is currently being used in Folk medicine as treatment for cough, bronchitis in Iraq. This study revealed that

This study was conducted to extract and titrate the leukotoxin of Fusobacterium necrophorum isolates recovered from 75abscesses found in 24 livers of slaughtered cattle in Sulaimaniyah region. The culture supernatants of these isolates were subjected to the tetrazolium dye reduction test which revealed that the leukotoxin titer values of 34 F. necrophorum subsp. necrophorum isolates ranged from 128 to 1024 (with a leukotoxin titer mean of 516±46), whereas the leukotoxin titer values of the 11 F. necrophorum subsp. funduliforme isolates ranged from 0 to 128 (with a leukotoxin titer mean of 73±12).

Aplastic anemia, marked by deficiencies in hematopoietic stem cells, leads to peripheral blood pancytopenia and hypocellular bone marrow. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of cyclosporine and azacitidine, administered either alone or in combination, in rats with benzene-induced aplastic anemia, focusing on restoring normal blood cell levels and preventing disease complications. Thirty adult female Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) were randomly divided into five groups: negative control (C-, untreated), positive control (C+, induced aplastic anemia with distilled water), cyclosporine-treated (CsA, 5.86 mg/kg), azacitidine-treated (Aza, 5.75 mg/kg), and combination-treated (CsA |
In this study (35) cows suffering from bovine papilloma were subjected for three different
types of treatments; The First group involved 15 animals treated with autogenous vaccine.
The Second group involved 10 animals treated with prepared cell culture vaccine .While the
third group involved 10 cows treated with virulent local Newcastle disease virus. In the First
two groups the warts were surgically removed from cows showing lump lesions on skin of
abdomen, neck and udder, and transferred aseptically to laboratory by using transport media.
Treatment of cows in the first group involved preparation of autogenous formalin (0.5%)
in activated vaccine. Vaccination of these animals result in regression of the warts starte
Blood serum samples were obtained from ten normal nonpregnant ewes at mid January and mid August. The level of acetylcholine estrease (ChE). enzyme activity was estimated colorimetrically while the values of glutamete-oxaloacetate transaminase (COT), glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and alkaline Phosphatease (A Ph) were estimated by an autoanalyzer. The results indicated significant depression in the normal values of ChE, GOT and GPT in summer season.
This study was conducted as an attempt to determine the epidemiology of rinderpest in Awassi sheep and Levantine goats in an area endemic to rinderpest. A herd of sheep and goats that were in contact with cows and buffalo that were infected with rinderpest was examined. Naturally, blood serum samples were collected and examined using an agricultural neutralization test prepared from the kidneys of calves. We did not observe any clinical signs in sheep and goats that lived in coexistence with cows and buffaloes infected with rinderpest.
This study demonstrated the absence of antibodies to rinderpest infection in the sera of the sheep and goats that were examined, which indicates the absence of hidden rinder

Paracetamol poisoning, whether intentionally or accidentally, is one of the main public health problems since the prevalence of its toxicity increased significantly in many countries. Currently, paracetamol is one of the primary causes of acute liver failure worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential prophylactic effect of omega-7 fatty acid in protecting male rats' livers from paracetamol-induced liver damage. Thirty albino male rats were divided randomly and equally into five groups and then treated as follows: Group 1 (negative control) rats were orally given liquid paraffin for seven consecutive days. Group 2 (positive control) rats were orally given liquid paraffin for seven conse |

Velogenic Newcastle Disease Virus was isolated from broiler chickens in Northern Iraq. An inactivated vaccine was manufactured locally using as seed virus ELD50/ml109 and then compared with commercial inactivated vaccine in an experimental study which included 120 broiler chicks divided into three groups (G1 unvaccinated control, G2 for commercial vaccine and G3 for local vaccine). The chicks were injected subcutaneously at 3 days old followed by booster Lasota live vaccine eye drop. Indirect ELISA technique was used to estimate the antibody titer from the collected sera of chicks at age 7, 17 and 27 days (pre-challenge) and challenged at 31 days old with the same virus. The results indicated that ther

Lymphoma is a cancer arising from B or T lymphocytes that are central immune system components. It is one of the three most common cancers encountered in the canine; lymphoma affects middle-aged to older dogs and usually stems from lymphatic tissues, such as lymph nodes, lymphoid tissue, or spleen. Despite the advance in the management of canine lymphoma, a better understanding of the subtype and tumor aggressiveness is still crucial for improved clinical diagnosis to differentiate malignancy from hyperplastic conditions and to improve decision-making around treating and what treatment type to use. The aim of this study was to prepare and characterize a small intestine submucosa (SIS) hydrogel as a bio-scaffold. In this study, SIS from five calves, aged 8-12 months and weighing 250-300 kg, was obtained from a slaughterhouse immediately after slaughtering. The SIS was then decellularized, powdered, and subsequently transformed into a hydrogel. This transformation was achieved by dissolving the decellularized SIS powder in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) at a concentration of 50% w/v, and allowing it to form a hydrogel over a 12-hour period at 37 °C. Characterization of the SIS hydrogel was conducted using various techniques. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (F |

This work aimed to use conventional PCR to identify Salmonella spp. that were isolated from diarrheal children and healthy and diarrheic dogs based on four virulence genes, hilA, stn, spvR, and marT. Sixteen Salmonella isolates including: 9 isolated from children's diarrhea from three species (S. Typhimurium, S. Enteritidis, S. Typhi) and seven isolated from dogs including (S. Typhimurium, S. The aim of this study was the discrimination of Salmonella isolated from chicken and their feed and drinking water for the epidemiological control of salmonellosis. Totally, 289 samples, including 217 chicken cloaca swabs, 46 water, and 26 feed samples were collected from five different farms in Karbala governorate, Iraq. Conventional bacteriology tests, API 20E, Vitek 2, and serology were used for bacterial identification. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to analyze the genetic relationships among Salmonella isolates. The isolation rate of Salmonella spp. was 21.1% (61/289). While |
