EFFECT OF MIXING COLIGEN AND HEMORRHAGIC SEPTICARMIA VACCINES ON THE IMMUNE RESPONSE IN ANIMALS
...Show More Authors

This study was done to evaluste the possible effect of mixing coligen vaccine prepared from E£. coli with hemorrhagic septicaemia vaccine prepared from P. multocida on the development of immmity. Awwasi sheep were used as experimental animals. A slight increase in the mean antibody titers in the animal group vaccinated with the mixed vaccine compared to the groups received each vaccine separately was noticed. Challenge experiment showed that protection against heterologous organiams by using homologous vaccine was low (12.5%) in comparison with the group received homologous vaccine (protection 87.5%). No detectable reaction tms noticed with the antisera and heterologous antigens.

The evaluation of gingerol as medical entities in Iraq and Jamaica cultivated
ginger was done in this experiment. Two different types of cultivated ginger
(Iraq and Jamaica) of the same species (Zingiber officinal) were extracted to
achieve the subject of this study. Extraction was performed by two different
stages: the first stage preparative and extraction. Harvested ginger was prepared
for extraction by wash, denotation, drying, grinding, and extracting by acetone
under heating. The second stage is separation by two steps via TLC and HPLC.
The quality and quantity of oleoresin and gingerol in each step of separation
were checked by spots diameter and RF value of spot migration in TLC ginger

The Anti-Inflammatory Effect of Omega-7 Against Cisplatin in Rat Model
...Show More Authors

Omega-7 (palmitoleic acid, 16:1 n7) is a monounsaturated fatty acid that is found to have several beneficial effects. Cisplatin is commonly considered for the treatment of different carcinomas. Cisplatin therapy is restricted due to its nephrotoxicity. Nephrotoxicity caused by cisplatin is thought to be associated with inflammatory reactions among other mechanisms. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the possible anti-inflammatory effect of omega-7 on cisplatin in rats. Thirty adult male Wistar Albino rats were divided randomly into five equal groups, rats of group 1 received liquid paraffin solution orally for 7 consecutive days, rats of group 2 received cisplatin (7.5 mg/kg) by single intraperiton

Development and Characterization of Lornoxicam-Infused Ocular Gel for Effective Treatment of Ocular Inflammation in Domestic Cats
...Show More Authors

Lornoxicam (LOX) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) effective in managing ocular inflammation. Traditional delivery methods like liquid drops are cleared rapidly and may not provide sustained therapeutic levels, necessitating the development of an ocular gel formulation. Mucoadhesive polymers such as hyaluronic acid (HA), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), and Carbopol have been identified as suitable excipients to modify drug release profiles. This study aims to formulate an effective ophthalmic 0.1% w/w lornoxicam gel administered to pets for topical and continuous drug release, enhancing therapeutic efficacy while minimizing possible side effects. Eight formulations of lornoxicam ocular gel

Life threatening water intoxication

Water intoxication is a fatal disorder associated with disturbance in brain function, known as hypo-osmolar syndrome which resulting from an excessive water intake, with dilutional hypernatremia leads to a potentially fatal outcome. A change in the electrolyte equilibrium such as this sudden drop in serum sodium level and then subsequent mortality. With hyponatremia, the plasma osmolality decreased leading to water movement into the brain according to the osmotic gradient, resulting in hyponatremic encephalopathy and cerebral oedema. Increased water intake such as in Psychogenic polydipsia is followed by urination of high amount of diluted urine (polyuria) which are the main initial symptoms of water intoxication with headache, blurred v
