This study was aimed to find out the effect of Zingiber 2.5% and vit.E
(administrated a dose of 400mg/head) on some reproductive traits of 18
Awassi male lambs. Divided randomly into three groups equally. The result
showed significant (P<0.05) increase in serum testosterone concentration and
semen traits in animals group one which received ginger and group two where
the animals received vit E and ginger comparing to the control group , that
vit.E gave better results in these measurements in group two.

Optimization of ligninolytic enzymes production from Aspergillus terreus SG-777 by solid state fermentation: Sahar Ghazi Imran1, Ghazi M.Aziz2 and Nada Sabah Razuqi3
...Show More Authors

The present study aimed at producing the ligninolytic enzymes extracts by growing single and co-cultures of an indigenous Aspergillus terreus SG-777 utilizing solid state fermentation (SSF) using lignocellulosic substrates. A further goal was to optimize the production condition of ligninolytic enzymes by selected fungal culture and lignocellulosic substrate. The production process was further improved by optimizing a number of physical parameters such as (substrate, incubation time, moisture level, inoculum size, pH, and temperature). By optimization of different parameters, the maximum specific activities of enzymes synthesized by Aspergillus terreus SG-777 were observed as 0

Forty adult male rats were randomly divided into four equal groups (ten rat/group) and treated for 60 days as follows: Control: Rats in this group were received distilled water orally, groups T1 and T2: rats of these groups were given orally 0.5 and 1mg/kg B.W acrylamide respectively. Animals in the fourth (T3) group were given 40% fructose in drinking water. Blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture technique at different periods 0, 30 and 60 day of the experiment for measuring serum concentration of the following parameters related to metabolic syn

Morphometrical Study of human neonatal cerebral cortex (Age of 28 day): Bader, K. Hameed1; Ayad, H. Ibraheem1 and Sammira, A-H. Abdullah2
...Show More Authors

The character and timing of gyral and sulci development is one manifestation of the complex orchestration of human brain development. This work describes the morphometry and thickness measurement of human neonate cerebral cortex at age of 28 days. Four Brains samples were fixed in 10% neutral buffer formalin for 24 hrs. Slides from various brain regions were prepared and routine hamatoxylin and eosine staining procedure was applied using histological technique. The present results clarify that the brain mean measurement from the frontal to the occipital pole was 189.6 mm, while the measurements of the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital cortices were 4.06, 3.84, 3.48 and 3.68 mm, respectively.

The ovarian histomorphometric in adult normal and unilateral ovariectomized Iraqi black goats (Age 7 months) was studied to evaluate the effect of laparoscopic unilateral ovariectomy of young goat  (age 2-3 months) on other remaining ovary histologically. Ten young female Iraqi black goats were used in the study. The goats were divided randomly into two equal groups; young goats were left normal (group A) and young goats underwent to right laparoscopic unilateral ovariectomy (group B). All animals in both groups were left to reach adult stage at 7 months age, in which they underwent to removal their ovaries laparoscopically by using the harmonic scalpel.      This study aimed at evaluating the efficacy of different concentrations of C. craniiformis mushroom suspension in pigeon flock infected by Hadjelia truncata worms in Diyala province in comparison with 0.1% ivermectin. Thirty pairs of pigeons were brought to the veterinary clinic with case history of progressive weight loss, weakness, and some birds have died suddenly. In the necropsy of 3 cases the gizzards contained some nematodes, located under the koilin layer of the gizzard, which was identified microscopically as Hadjelia truncata which was one of the important parasites of the digestive system of poultry.      Isolates of Enterohaemorrhagic E.coli O157:H7 were isolated from 51 and 41 of locally produced bovine and ovine soft cheese samples. Their identification were confirmed based on the biochemical reactions and both the morphological cultural and serological properties. Presumptive E.coli O157:H7 isolates obtained by using the conventional selective plating on the chromogenic agar were tested further for the presence of both O157 and H7 antigenes using the latex agglutination test antisera. The current microbiological studies revealed that 31 (33.70 %) out of 92 bovine and ovine soft cheese samples were positive for E.coli O157:H7. Association of TGF-β2 Gene Polymorphism with Growth Rate in Local Chickens
...Show More Authors

Iraqi native chickens have tasty meat and eggs; however, they are characterized by low production efficiency. In fact, phenotypic traits, such as growth rate, are influenced by genes and environmental factors. During health and disease, a variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, motility, adhesion, migration, apoptosis, and immune response regulate the TGF-β genes. The enhancement in body weight can be reached through mass selection, whereas feed conversion ratio (FCR) is relatively more difficult to improve. This means, selecting for body weight has been submitted as an effective way of indirectly improving feed conversion ratio. Therefore, the present study attempts to identify

Turkey bird is one of the popular poultry species which is reared primarily for meat production and considered as one of the major sources of animal protein. With such importance of this species, this study was designed to investigate the gross and histomorphology of the ovary and oviduct with especial emphasis on sperm-host glands of the turkey hen involving ten mature female turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo). The present study highlighted the distribution pattern of sperm-host glands (SHGs) in the oviduct of turkey hen that has a potential role in producing a fertile egg in poultry industries. The oviduct of turkey consists of the infundibulum, magnum, isthmus, uterus, and vagina which are sole distributors for
