A nitrogenous bio-fertilizer comibination was prepared contain Azospirillum lipoferum, and Azotobacter chroococcum bacteria. A phosphate bio-fertilizer consisting of Bacillus megaterium and Glomus mosseae fungus was also prepared. vermicompost was produced from earthworms imported from Iran and others isolated locally. A factorial experiment was carried to evaluate the effect of the interaction between these combinations and vermicompost types under levels of 0%, 25% and 50% of NPK. The results showed a significant superiority of the bio-fertilizer (nitrogen and phosphate) tre

This study was aimed to use the fuzzy logic to employ complex and non-simple models to simple and understandable models that are concerned with no accuracy in the event or the concept itself in the GIS environmental to produce soil degradation maps of the chemical degradation for lands by spatial interpolation method (Inverse Distant Weight). The study area was selected in the province of Babil and within the large Musaaib project. Forty (40) surface samples and 12 profiles were drilled (soil profile). The chemical properties of the soil were then estimated. The results indicated that there were four types of chemical deterioration of the soil, which was characterized by a slight degradation of D1 with an area estimated at 1982.3

...Show More Authors

The current study was designed for analysis of the pattern of the nucleotide sequence of the tissue DNA isolates based on the ITS2,28SrDNA gene by the traditional polymerase chain reaction. All amplicons were well suited for the prepared primer with size 873 bp . and identical ratio ranged 87.2- 98% of the same species, as included a high similarity of the isolates taken camels in Iran and Iraq related to Parabronema skrjabini . Phylogenic tree inferred the degree of relatedness between 28SrDNA sequences deposited in the international nucleotide bank sequence database (NCBI). The sequence of Parabronema skrjabini was recorded in the Genbank under accession number MT742154.1.

MODELING OF SUBSURFACE HORIZONTAL POROUS PIPE IRRIGATION UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS
...Show More Authors

Horizontal porous pipe method is one of the most efficient systems of irrigation in arid and semi-arid areas.  The main aim of this study is to simulate the subsurface horizontal porous pipe irrigation under different conditions.  By this method of irrigation, an optimum amount of water is reached to the crop.  Moreover, it saves more water than the other irrigation systems.  Simulation models by HYDRUS/2D  are described the distribution of wetting shapes in two different soil textures through the system of United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, namely as loam and silt soils.  The system is designed for three diameters of 6, 7, and 8 cm insta

EFFECT OF CALCINATION TEMPERATURE ON THE ADSORPTION PERFORMANCE OF MG/AL LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDE NANOPARTICLES IN THE REMOVAL OF MEROPENEM ANTIBIOTICS
...Show More Authors

Meropenem (MER) antibiotic is removed from an aqueous solution using Mg-Al-layered double hydroxide (Mg/Al-LDHs) which serves to functionalize the principal object of enquiry in this paper–sunflower husks (SFH).  The former sample demonstrated a 51% removal of MER while the latter demonstrated a 67% removal of MER. One of the areas explored was the impact of the rise calcination temperatures resulted in a concurrent increase in the surface area and porosity of LDHs which, in turn, provoked a heightened removal efficacy of MER at calcination temperatures between 300 °C and 350 °C. Nonetheless, LDHs experienced structural deformation and thus, diminished removal efficacy of MER when the ca

EFFECT OF ENZYME TYPE AND HYDROLYSIS TIME ON ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF WHEY PROTEIN HYDROLYSATES

There is an elevated need for novel antimicrobial preservatives in the food industry, and hydrolysis of waste products from the same sector has for decades been viewed as a potential source of these. In the current study we have purified bovine whey protein using size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), and hydrolyzed it by trypsin, pepsin, alcalase, savinase, and neutrase at different times 30, 60, 120, 240, and 300 min. The highest active time hydrolysate was subsequently fractionated by SEC, monitored for antibacterial and antioxidant activities, and characterized using UHPLC-MS/MS. Alcalase and savinase displayed higher degree of hydrolysis, higher antibacterial activity in their hydrolysates at 60 and 30 min, respectively compar

The experiment was conducted in two irrigation methods, sprinkler irrigation and surface irrigation, and two cultivation methods are borders (lines) and furrows (lines and then furrows) and for two cultivars of maize, a hybrid (unlocal) and a local variety. The results that sprinkler irrigation reduced water consumption compared to surface irrigation, as it reached (558.38) mm for sprinkler irrigation, and (668.79) mm for surface irrigation. While the method of furrows after borders outperformed the borders only in improving growth characteristics and increasing

This study was carried out in the laboratory to investigate the effect of addition of different levels of formic acid (FA) and urea on chemical composition and fermentation characteristics of common reed silages. About 400-500g of silage samples were prepared by treating chopped reed plants (2-3 cm) with solutions containing 10% of date juice, 0.5, 1 or 1.5% of FM and 0, 1 or 2% of urea. Silage samples were packed in double nylon bags and stored anaerobically for 60 days. Results showed that green color was roughly dominant in most samples of silage with vinegar odor. Samples were well aggregated with little mold was observed in few urea untreated silages. Results revealed also that increasing le

A simple, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly method for making green nanoparticles has been developed. The current study examines the use of M. communis leaves extract in the biosynthesis of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs). The color change and UV-visible spectrophotometer, which showed a distinct peak at 481nm, confirmed the formation of these particles. Different techniques were used to characterize copper nanoparticles. The influential functional groups that can bio-reduce the copper ion Cu2+ were identified using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The crystal structure of copper nanoparticles was determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), as evidenced by the peaks at 2θ values of 43.35

The existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship among tea import quantity, current prices of tea and coffee buying, gross national income, and number of buyers is proved using bounds test method to co-integration. Results of estimating short and long-run models of the demand of tea imports by using the unrestricted error correction approach showed that the error correction parameter is adjusted annually by 140%.
