The late Albian-Early Turonian Radiolarians of the Balambo Formation, which were recovered from well Jambur-18 (NE of Iraq) are characterized by their abundance and diversity. They show certain similarities to those from the Tethys and North Atlantic indicating the ongoing opening between the two basins.
Microfacies analysis for the Balambo rocks indicates a basinal depositional environment, where radiolarians thrived. The differences in depositional textures of the carbonate facies with presence of mudstone and shale units indicate relative changes in depth within the same environment. Studies of three surface sections of the Euphrates Formation in its type locality Western Iraq, yielded a rich benthic foraminifera. Tabulation of the results showed more or less similar content which are previously studied except for the presence for the first time of Triloculina trigonula Lamark, Triloculina tricarinata D'orbigny in the lower parts and Spirolina cf. cylindracea Lamark in the upper parts. The Principal-Components-Analysis (PCA) of KL-transform has been utilized as multi operators, (i.e. enhancement, compressor, and temporal change detector). Two images pair (Al-Jaderiya-Baghdad-Iraq) of 3-bands Landsat ETM+ (14.25 spatial-resolution) and Panchromatic Quick-Bird (0.6 meter) images are adopted to perform the PC analysis. Since most of the image band's information are presented in the first PCs, therefore image classification and change detection procedures are performed with little consuming time. The linear “PCA” transformation can be used to translate and rotate data into a new coordinate system that maximizes the variance of the data. It can also be implemented for enhancing the information content.
Properties of the value function and dual value function for an optimal control problems of Lagrange and Bolza are described. A main theorem is proved, this theorem deals with the existence of a maximum solution to the Hamilton-Jacobi equation for the Lagrange problem, with satisfies the Lipschitz condition by using the dual dynamic programming method. Finally gives an example which illustrates the value of the main theorem.
Short pulse laser generation using phase shifted fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is a theoretical demonstration and investigation in this paper. The specified refractive index can be photo-written in an optical fiber using UV laser with a standard phas mask scanning techniques. Two Bragg gratings were specially designed to spectrally filtering the edges of the input puise. When the FBGs are fabricated in the core of the optical fiber, most of the power travels in the core with a smock part corresponding to the evanescent wave that travels outside near the core in the cladding. The detection of aflatoxin B1 has been done using TLC and HPLC techniques.
The total inhibitory effect of oil extract on the growth of A. flavus and aflatoxin B1 production was at the concentrations up to 350ppm using YES medium, while inhibited the growth of the same isolate on PDA medium at the levels up to 650ppm.
To evaluate the Combination effect of Nitrogen laser and chlorohexidine on the viability of Pseudomonas aeruginosa that isolated from burns, the samples of bacteria were irradiated with 337.1 nm Nitrogen laser using 5 and 10 pulses/second repetition rates , at 1 , 5, 10 ,15, 25 minutes exposure times . The irradiation was done with and without treatment with chlorohexidine respectively. The results showed that there is a noticeable effect of Laser on the viability of bacteria with the presence of chlorohexidine. The viability of bacteria decreased with increasing the exposure time and pulse repetition rate.

Gastropod species belonging to Qamchuqa Formation (Aptian-Cenomanian) in the North of Iraq are studied. These species are Harpagodes nodosus (J.de C. Sowerby,1823), Ampullina sp.1 (Hannaa and Furisch, 2011), Ampullina sp.2 (Hannaa and Furisch, 2011), Tylostoma pallaryi (Peron and Fourtau, 1904), Calliomphalus orientalis (Douville,1916), and Pyrgulifera (Meek, 1871). They are recorded in the Upper Cretaceous succession of Northern Iraq for the first time. Most of these species are internal moulds and not abundant at any stratigraphic level but irregularly scattered in the formation.

The studied mixture can be applicated as a liquid magnetic switch.
