تزداد الحاجة إلى الحفاظ على المياه مع ندرة الموارد. إن الخطوة الأكثر أهمية لإدارة هذا المورد هي تقدير جريان مستجمعات المياه. إن جريان المياه وهطول الأمطار هما المصدران الرئيسيان اللذان يحافظان على المياه الجوفية ويعيدان تزويدها في فصل الشتاء. تم محاكاة جريان المياه السطحية لمنطقة الدراسة من خلال تقنية رقم منحنى خدمة الحفاظ على التربة (SCS-CN) المدمجة في نظام المعلومات الجغرافية (GIS)، اذ أظهرت نتائج البحث عن عمق الجريان السطحي تراوح بين 400-800ملم في الحوض مما يولد كمية كبيرة من الجريان لاستثمارها في الأنشطة المختلفة في منطقة الدراسة.
