Antibacterial and antioxidant activities of nanoparticles of essential oil of <i>H</i> <i>ypericum perforatum</i>
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p> This research aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial and antioxidant characteristics of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesised from Hypericum perforatum essential oil through an eco-friendly production process. The composition of silver nanoparticles was analyzed using ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, Fourier-Tranform InfraRed spectroscopy, Gas Chrmatography-Mass Spectrometry, and atomic force microscopy. The antibacterial efficacy of the nanoparticle was assessed against multiple infectious strains of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes , and Klebsiella pneumoniae , via a well diffusion assay. The antioxidant capacity was evaluated via a 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging assay. Round-shaped particles with average size of 44.76 nm and persistence were observed. The FTIR study of H. perforatum oil nanomaterials identified functional groups. Specific compounds were detected in the nanoparticles via a GC-MS method. The synthesis of AgNP was subsequently validated by a colour change and surface plasmon resonance seen in the ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy at 244.5 nm. The biosynthesised AgNPs were spherical, with an average size of 47.67 nm. The findings showed considerable potential for H. perforatum oil particles for antibacterial efficacy. Futhermore, it has the antimicrobial properties. The H. perforatum oil nanoparticles demonstrate considerable antioxidant activity, varying from 71.56% to 88.89%, with significance determined at P > 0.05. NPs generated from H. perforatum oil may act as innovative sources for antibacterial agents against harmful microbes. </p>

Extraction of Essential Oil from Iraqi<i>Eucalyptus Camadulensis</i>Leaves by Water Distillation Methods
...Show More Authors

The extraction of Eucalyptus oil from Iraqi Eucalyptus Camadulensis leaves was studded using water distillation methods. The amount of Eucalyptus oil has been determined in a variety of extraction temperature and agitation speed. The effect of water to Eucalyptus leaves (solvent to solid) ratio and particle size of Eucalyptus leaves has been studied in order to evaluate the amount of Eucalyptus oil. The optimum experimental condition for the Eucalyptus oil extraction was established as follows: 100˚C extraction temperature, 200 rpm agitation speed; 0.5 cm leave particle size and 6:1 ml: g amount of water to eucalyptus leaves Ratio.

The goal of this article is to construct fibrewise w-compact (resp. locally w-compact) spaces. Some related results and properties of these concepts will be investigated. Furthermore, we investigate various relationships between these concepts and three classes of fibrewise w-separation axioms.

Synergistic Antibacterial and Anticancer Effects of a Biohybrid Composed of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles and <i>Streptococcus Salivarius</i> Bacteriocin
...Show More Authors
ABSTRACT<p> Antimicrobial therapies are desperately needed since the threat posed by multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria only grows. Bacteriocins produced by Streptococcus salivarius possess promising antibacterial properties, yet their practical application is hindered by low production yield and limited stability. Here, we report the green synthesis of a novel biohybrid by conjugating purified S. salivarius bacteriocins with zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs), aiming to enhance bacteriocin stability and antimicrobial efficacy.
