This research is concerned with the re-analysis of optical data (the imaginary part of the dielectric function as a function of photon energy E) of a-Si:H films prepared by Jackson et al. and Ferlauto et al. through using nonlinear regression fitting we estimated the optical energy gap and the deviation from the Tauc model by considering the parameter of energy photon-dependence of the momentum matrix element of the p as a free parameter by assuming that density of states distribution to be a square root function.    The kinetics of removing cadmium from aqueous solutions was studied using a bio-electrochemical reactor with a packed bed rotating cylindrical cathode. The effect of applied voltage, initial concentration of cadmium, cathode rotation speed, and pH on the reaction rate constant (k) was studied. The results showed that the cathodic deposition occurred under the control of mass transfer for all applied voltage values ​​used in this research. Accordingly, the relationship between logarithmic concentration gradient with time can be represented by a first-order kinetic rate equation. This paper presents seven modified Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) techniques for efficiently solving initial value problems, especially those involving non-homogeneous and nonlinear differential equations. While the classical ADM is effective for linear homogeneous cases, it has difficulties solving more complex problems. The proposed modifications—from MADM1 to MLADM—include Maclaurin and Taylor expansions, Laplace transforms, and single-step iterations.• These modifications enhance convergence, reduce complexity, and improve accuracy.• Each method offers specific advantages, such as accelerating convergence (MADM2, RADM4), simplifying computation (TSADM5), and achieving higher accuracy (MLADM).• Numerical examples confirm th
