This research deals with the study of the obstacles to peaceful coexistence in Iraq. Therefore, our hypothesis is that these obstacles are not attributed to one reason or to one source. Therefore, peaceful coexistence among the components of Iraqi society remains fragile and vulnerable to collapse and threat at any moment. This society, which is already in need of social relations, needs more than ever to coexist and consolidate it. Through the exercise of democracy in Iraq in a manner that guarantees rights and duties for all, to restore mutual trust between the components of this community in a way that feels they are citizens of the state.

دور التعايش السلمي في تحقيق الوحدة الوطنية

    Community peace is achieved in law-based states Constitutional institutions with competence and powers, and otherwise that peace is shaken and begins to collapse. The movement of individuals and groups in the State is regulated by law The law and its proper application without selectivity or exception, and then the sense of equal opportunity and equal rights grows every citizen looks at his spouse, what he has, and when he is unbalanced, a sense of frustration and stealing of rights is generated Societal peace suffers from the shocks of instability and what is reflected in the surrounding environment. Societal security is regarded as a basic need for human society through which the stability, progress and prosperity of the nation is measured. Abstract The study aimed at demonstrating the reality of sectarian coexistence in Iraq, which was characterized by the tolerance and coercion caused by the successive government policies to govern Iraq and to this day. The study was based on the hypothesis that coexistence between Islamic sects in Iraq can be achieved as long as there are strong bonds linking its components, and these bonds can produce coexistence between the sects based on peace. The study concluded that the hypothesis is correct, in addition to drawing a set of observations aimed at identifying weaknesses for advancing them through the adoption of mechanisms that address these weaknesses to yield towards a genuine peaceful coexistence among Islamic sects in Iraq.

     Peaceful coexistence is not seen as a new topic of secretions of modern civilization, a requirement to solve the problems of our era or one of the indications of urgent immediate needs, rather, tolerance is considered basis for building a state. Therefore, we can touch on the principles and basics of tolerance in the Holy Qur’an, the speeches of the Messenger (may God bless him and grant him peace) and his hadiths, and the principle of brotherhood that he established

Those human societies, which based on pluralism and cultural diversity, can be handled with completely consciously، when converting the contradiction to integration and the collision to coexistence and the transition from intolerance to tolerance.  This diversity in communities make individuals differ acconding to the following:
